The fight for equality is far from over. Recent events in the UK have brought conversations about violence against women out of our WhatsApp groups and into the spotlight. We're tired, we're angry and we are ready to act for meaningful change. The Stack exists to move the needle on gender equality. That's why we are launching a monthly series with Talking Circle London to create a safe space for our community to discuss the social issues impacting women today. In this first session, we will be talking about the role of activism in structural change. How can we put pressure on lawmakers to fight the abuse epidemic? Activist & Author Gina Martin will join Talking Circle to share stories and discuss the things that each and every one of us can do to make a real difference.
This event will be led by Talking Circle London, as the second in our monthly series on violence against women and girls. Founded by Zaharan Sofi, Talking Circle London is a platform focused on highlighting social issues using compelling data and open conversation. Gina Martin is an activist and author, who is known for their contribution and case to making upskirting illegal in England and Wales, which resulted in the Voyeurism Act 2019. In 2020, Gina authored a book, Be the Change: A Toolkit for the Activist in You, and rejected an Order of the British.
Join us to share your stories and experiences in a safe and inclusive environment, leaving each session feeling empowered, informed and ready to act.
